PHOTOGRAPHY MASTERS CUP HONORS PHOTOGRAPHER TAMAR LEVINE FROM USA

LONDON 25.05.2009 – Professional photographer Tamar Levine (USA) was presented with the 3rd Annual Photography Masters Cup Nominee Award in the category of Fashion at a prestigious live online Winners and Nomination Ceremony presented by International Color Awards to recognize excellence in color photography.

Thousands of images were received from ninety-two countries. The nominated photographers were selected by a who’s who Judging Panel from the international photography community, including Christie’s (New York), National Geographic (Washington) and Fox Broadcasting Company (Los Angeles). The Panel reviewed the images online over an eight week period and Levine’s “Let Them Eat Cake,” an exceptional image entered in the Fashion category, received a high percentage of votes overall.

“The Masters Cup celebrates photographers who operate at the highest levels of their craft,” said the awards Creative Director, Basil O’Brien. “Tamar Levine’s work represents color photography at its finest and we’re pleased to present her with the title of Nominee.”

I shot these photos in Vegas for this month’s assignment on thisisaphotoblog.com. The assignment was “Street Photography”, and the goal was to find someone we didn’t know beforehand and take a photo of him/her. Unfortunately I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked but I did find some nice ladies right before I had to head back to LA at the Palms Casino, which is where I was staying. I would love to go back to Vegas soon when I have more time and take more photos of the casino regulars. Click to enlarge!

Sometimes I take photos for my dad’s design company, Cyberia. He made this pretty little video with stills from his iPhone and put it up on the blog. It makes me smile and I hope it makes you smile too. Click here to watch!

Speaking of my dad, recently I watched a couple of his music videos again after not seeing them since the 80’s. It was really neat to watch when I could finally appreciate them! Click here to see one.

I was asked to participate in Stoked Sessions LA, an art show and fundraiser for Stoked Mentoring (www.stoked.org). All art will start at $75 and up. All of the proceeds from the art show will go directly to Stoked LA.

I will be out of town, but if you are in the area I would definitely suggest stopping by! There should be some great art and it is for a really great cause.
