Memories

**Photographed for Thisisaphotoblog.com**
When I was little my uncle’s girlfriend owned a farm in Upstate New York. My favorite animals were pigs, and every time we drove up to the farm I would pet and play with this one particular pig. Well one day I searched and searched and this particular pig was nowhere to be found. Later on, we were sitting at the dinner table, and I asked my uncle’s girlfriend where my favorite pig went. She looked down at my plate and said, “You’re eating him”.
Special thanks to Topsy Design for collaborating with me on this photo shoot! And thank you to Sam for assisting, Erica for doing the makeup and being a fabulous model, Adam for being another fabulous model, and Morgan for being a fabulous little model.

April shows
Posted on April 1st, 2011 by Tamar.
I am so excited to be participating in two shows in April as a part of MOPLA (the Month of Photography in LA).
The first show will be April 21st. It is a group show for the photo collective I founded, This is a photo blog. You can check out the Facebook event page by clicking here, and the press release with more info by clicking here!
The second show I will have work in is a group show from another collective I am a member of, called En Masse. Each member selected a different area of Los Angeles to photograph (mine is Hollywood). Each set of photos will be projected and displayed, along with a specially curated musical selection by a KCRW DJ. It should be awesome! This show will be the closing night event of MOPLA, on April 30th.
Please see flyers below for more info on each show. I hope to see you there!

Mt. Zion
Posted on June 2nd, 2010 by Tamar.
I brought along my Holga on a hiking trip to Mt. Zion a couple weeks ago. I thought it would be a great subject for our new thisisaphotoblog assignment, Sports! Hiking is the perfect sport for me; I can bring my dog (usually), and it is outdoors (a great place to be when most of the time I am behind a computer). These photos are not retouched or anything, it is all done in-camera. I always forget how fun the Holga is!
Please see below for my final images, and click to enlarge.
Grandma’s House
Posted on April 21st, 2010 by Tamar.
I have been in New York for the past ten days for a work/family/friends trip. Every time I come up it is a whirlwind. This time I spent some time meeting with people about my portfolio, one day photographing, almost all the nights with friends, visits to the MoMA and Natural History Museum, a wonderful burlesque club called The Box, a couple days with my aunt & uncle in Poughkeepsie, and one day in Long Island visiting my grandmother.
Last time I came up to Long Island I interviewed my grandmother, a Holocaust survivor, speaking about her experience. This time I photographed her house, the place I spent many weekends as a child. Below are some of the photos I took!
